GlobalTech Engineering in Valencia

GlobalTech Engineering in Valencia was specifically designed for the Engineering Spanish Program (ESP).

This exciting year-long study abroad program will take you into the heart of Valencia, Spain and immerse you in its culture, language and landscape. This is a year-long program divided in two distinct semesters, fall and spring. Immediately after your arrival you will take a not-for-credit one-week intensive Spanish language course that will help bring you up to speed in your new linguistic environment. During the fall semester you will take Spanish culture and related courses at the Centro de Lenguas of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Located only minutes away from the historic city center and the Malvarrosa beach, the “Centro” offers students from around the world the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture. During the spring semester you will do a full-time internship in a local company. This internship will alow you to transfer some practicum credits in Engineering towards your Spanish degree. The fall-semester courses, the organized cultural trips, living in a residence with Spanish college students, and the full-time internship will build your confidence and enhance your immersion experience, bringing your linguistic and cultural competence in Spanish to a whole new level.

The Experience

The Ancient City of Valencia was founded by the Romans in the second century BC, turned into an important center of Al-Andalus between the VIII and XIII centuries, and became a Kingdom of its own after the Christian reconquest in 1238.

You will live in a residence with Spanish students right next to the campuses of the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia. You will have a private room with all meals included. Laundry services will be provided for you, as well as bed linen and towels.

All of the facilities of the University – recreational, athletic, and academic – will be available to you. Several guided cultural trips to nearby cities –including weekend trips to Madrid and Barcelona– are also part of the program.
